Rough Cut Complete

As usual I'm a couple months behind on updates. So to bring things up to date - just before Christmas we managed to complete a 'rough cut' of Judge Minty.

This was a very rough chop together of takes, without any effects, or sound for the most part. It is simply to check whether we had shot enough footage to tell our story and, apart from a couple of interior pick up shots, we have!

The rough cut and original footage has now been sent to Director Matthew Giffin, for a fresh set of eyes on the cut. The plan is for Matthew to both tighten up the cut and suggest improvements. Matthew will then work closely with Steve Green to help make sure the final edit is suitable for all Steve's digital magic.

There is a lot of digital work to complete on the film and we will still have the audio & dialogue to add, but things are moving forward steadily.

Oh, here's a nice picture.

Edmund Dehn as Judge Minty

  1. hey guys. Thanks a trillion for all your good work.
Like you, there are millions of Judge fans out there and it touches our hearts that we have you and your team making our dreams and visions come true.

    Like I said to Steven.
You are each assured a place in MegaCity Heaven.

  2. Thank you Matt. It is a total team effort, so we will all go to Resyk together.

  3. I can't wait to see what the team has achieved.
You obviously have a lot respect for the property and I think that is going to show in the final product.
They say the devil is in the details and from what I have seen of this production, from costume design to props and casting, it looks like you guys have just the right amount of evil going on.

  4. Thank you. It's been an eye opener how many props, models and effects we've spent hours creating, only to see them flash across the scene for a few seconds (if that).

  5. Would Steven have any idea when the finished film will be released? Hopefully before the end of 2012. :)

Wish you the best of luck. :)

  6. Thank you.

We are optimistic that the film will be completed and shown, before the end of the year.

  7. I'm torn about which movie I'm looking forward to more, minty or dredd 3d. this never happens where 2 movies with the same character come out in the same year. fan film or not its just as legitimate as any theatrical release. some if the shots in the teaser are astounding. yeah I'm pretty much blown away. if I had a million bucks in my pocket I would gladly donate it all, instead I will donate a little bit every month, buy a sandwich with it, a nice big footlong. amazing work guys.

  8. Much Appreciated.

Our last expense will be the Audio Studio, so it will go towards that.

    Thank you!
